I am researcher at Tohoku University, Japan. I currently plan to conduct deformation experiment and preparing for the same. I am also interested in applying numerical optimization methods such as Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method to different geophysical problems.
Currently, I am working on applying MCMC technique to study the transient creep of olivine and to model simultaneous diffusion of multiple elements with different activation energy in olivine aggregates. In my PhD, I studied the transient creep of olivine and olivine bearing rocks using data from laboratory experiments. I applied the laboratory knowledge to study postseismic deformation following the 2012 Mw 8.6 Indian Ocean earthquake.
